This member of the Lycopodiaceae family was given this name by Vittore
Benedetto Antonio Trevisan de Saint-Léon in 1874. It is found in north-eastern Queensland,
Australia; Tropical Africa and Madagascar to Asia and the Pacific,
growing in a rich peat, or as an epiphytic with some to lots of water and
some to lots of
sun.
