ANCIENT STONES
Runestene.dk

The stone was found in its original place at Rævehøj (Foxhill), mired in the ground at a Bronze Age burial mound that was part of a larger memorial - a stone ship terminated at each end with a small, low high. It was unearthed in 1806, but has been known in the past. This is Denmark's longest runic inscription on a rune stone with 210 runes.

Found: Mindelunden,  Stenager 13, 5485 Skamby.
Present location:
Mindelunden,  Stenager 13, 5485 Skamby.

The stone is 282 cm high, with 188 cm above the ground. It is approximately 410 cm in circumference and weighs approximately 7 tons. It was erected in the first half of the 900s of the magnate Alle.

The inscription is: Side A "raknhiltr : sati : stain þąnsi : auft ala : saulua kuþa uia l(i)þs haiþuiarþan þiakn" Side B "ala : suniR : karþu kubl : þausi : aft : faþur sin : auk : hąns : kuna : auft uar : sin : in : suti : raist : runaR : þasi : aft : trutin : sin þur : uiki : þasi : runaR" Side C "at : rita : sa : uarþi : is : stain þansi ailti : iþa aft : ąnąn : traki"
Translated: Ragnhildr placed this stone in memory of Alli the Pale, priest of the sanctuary, honourable þegn of the retinue. Alli's sons made this monument in memory of their father, and his wife in memory of her husband. And Sóti carved these runes in memory of his lord. Þórr hallow these runes. A warlock be he who damages(?) this stone or drags it (to stand) in memory of another.
