The stone was found in a field related to Tågerup rectory in 1868. It was found with runes face down and split before the runes were discovered. It was joined and bricked into Tågerup church porch outside wall in 1869.

Found: Tågerup Kirke, Tågerupvej 2a 4970 Rødby.
Present location: Tågerup Kirke, Tågerupvej 2a 4970 Rødby.

The stone is granite and 156 centimetres high, 146 centimetres wide and up to 32 centimetres thick. It was made somewhere between 970 and 1020.

The inscription: "Øystæins syniR ræisþu stæin þannsi æft Spærlu, brōður sinn, skipara ĀsbiarnaR Næfs."
Translated: Eysteinn's sons raised this stone in memory of Sperla, their brother, Ásbjǫrn Nef's seaman.
