Runestene.dk

The run stone was discovered around 1600 by chancellor Christian Friis, who on a journey through Vordingborg accidentally saw it in the city-customs wall-base. At some point, it was moved to Rundetårn in Copenhagen.

Found: Somewhere in Vordingborg.
Present location: Nationalmuseet, Frederiksholms Kanal 12, 1220 København K.

The stone is granite and 144 centimetres high, 60 centimetres wide and 46 centimetres thick. It was made around 800 to 950.

The inscription: "Gærði ÞiūðvēR/Þiūðvī æft Aðīsl ..."
