THE GRAND EUROPE TOUR: One Europe, one man, one
Lupo: one great adventure! (and 61.000 km)
In 2017, I have visited 77 countries around the world. 62 with a comprising tour around most of the country, seeing everything that had my interest. However, Europe is still quite unknown territory for me. Only Denmark, Greece, Scotland and Wales have been well explored, while Sweden, England and Germany still have some unexplored corners. Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Russia, Poland, Finland and Norway have only been visited a single day or three.
That leave a lot of virgin Europe to be explored for me. Where the 62 countries I have travelled so fare have been quite comprising explored, this Europe Tour will a bit "Japanese"; only the highlights. And it will be my personal highlights, as I am sure other fellow travellers will appreciate other sights. The main attraction will be the drive, and whatever pops-up along the road.
The plan is to drive and sleep in
my tiny VW Lupo, as worked so great on the England-Wales
tour. Some countries are fit for camping, others will be hostels and
hotels. As the summers are a bit short in the northern regions, I might
break the tour up into two. Especially the fare north calls for
mid-summer visit, when it has gotten warmish, but before the mosquitoes
I have made a rough plan, and found what I consider the highlights of the countries. Now, I just need a summer or two, without work. It is actually a 61.000 km tour + detours. Might divide it into two...
And what is left?
